So, waaaaay in 2017, my friend Josh Eckert and I released our Eisner Award-nominated one-shot queer sci-fi romance comic, CONTACT HIGH, about a future where human touch is outlawed. It focuses on a man, Ziggurat, who seeks to find meaningful contact in that world by reconnecting with his partner. Now, in 2020, Josh and I never expected it to be at all prescient. But if you’re in quarantine and looking for something a little bit hopeful to read, it’s available digitally FREE to read here.

“FTL, Y’all’s” Official Line-Up Has Been Determined!

ftlyallanthology:

Congratulations to all successful applicants!

Unlike previous Iron Circus anthologies, the concentration of excellent submission to “FTL, Y’all” was so high that we’ve completely foregone invitees. For the first time in ICC history, ALL the anthology participants were picked from open submissions.

Successful applicants were picked from over 400 submissions. And they are:

Look for this anthology on Kickstarter in the first half of 2018. Follow Iron Circus on tumblr, Twitter, or Facebook, or join our mailing list to keep updated!

My Tumblr has been very quiet of late, but I’m super excited to be a part of this anthology! Sara and I can’t wait to get cracking and to see what everyone else brings to the table.

I haven’t posted here in a zillion years, but my friend Josh and I made a 28-page sci-fi action love story comic called Contact High, which you can pick up here for just $5. Also, all proceeds from sales of the book are going to charity: 50% to Lambda Legal, and 50% to the Southern Poverty Law Center. There’ll be a print edition coming as well, though it will be a little bit before we get that in place.

LUPINA.

What a long way we’ve come. I’m so lucky to be working on a new comic, Lupina, with the ridiculously talented, funny, gracious, and patient Liana Buszka. It’s about mothers and daughters and wolves, and if nothing else it will be absolutely gorgeous to look at. Today Liana completed her pencils on the first chapter of what (we hope) will be a six-chapter story, and tomorrow she begins inking. If you have a few minutes, you should just go over to her Instagram and see just how fantastic her work is. Pencils, inks, digital, watercolors, you name it, she can do it.
